A legacy of care continues—now strengthened with a renewed vision in Ladakh.
For over three decades, MIMC has been quietly serving senior citizens through its Old Age Home, offering care rooted in compassion and dignity. This newly inaugurated Geriatric Home marks a significant step forward, expanding that long-standing commitment with enhanced facilities and a broader vision.
Recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, the Home has been established by the Department of Social & Tribal Welfare with modern infrastructure and thoughtful amenities. Under the Memorandum of Understanding with the UT Administration, the responsibility of managing and operating the facility has been entrusted to MIMC, reflecting a shared commitment to community welfare and compassionate service.

Guided by Bhikkhu Sanghasena, the centre will focus on holistic care—supporting not just physical health, but also emotional well-being and spiritual enrichment. Rooted in Ladakh’s cultural and spiritual values, it aims to create a space where elders feel respected, cared for, and truly at home.
As preparations begin for full-scale operations, we invite village headmen, community leaders, social workers, and organizations to come forward and help identify deserving senior citizens who can benefit from this facility. Residents will be provided with comfortable stay, nutritious meals, medical care, and a nurturing environment enriched with meditation, counselling, and meaningful social engagement. A place where care meets compassion, and every life is honored with dignity.
