Ven. The summer months at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Devachan, are marked by a series of visitors, programmes, and activities, making it an especially active period for the entire community. With the summer season drawing to a close, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena took this opportunity to spend meaningful time with the students and staff, sharing his guidance, words of encouragement, and Dhamma teachings.

Addressing the students, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena emphasised the importance of discipline, good conduct, and the practice of the Five Precepts in school life. He encouraged the students to develop a regular meditation practice and to understand the importance of applying the Buddha’s teachings in their daily lives. Drawing inspiration from the life of the great Tibetan yogi, Jetsun Milarepa, he shared stories highlighting perseverance, dedication, humility, and the transformative power of sincere spiritual practice.

He also spoke about the various developmental activities undertaken at the school throughout the year and reaffirmed his commitment to the continuous improvement of the institution, its facilities, and the overall learning environment for the students.

Later in the day, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena met with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. In his interaction with them, he shared profound reflections on the importance of viewing one’s work as a form of worship and service. Referring to the teachings of Je Tsongkhapa in the Jangchub Lamrim, he spoke about the preciousness of human life and the responsibility to make meaningful use of one’s body, speech, and mind. He encouraged the teachers and staff to approach their responsibilities with sincerity, compassion, mindfulness, and dedication, recognising their role in shaping the character and future of the students.
