Bhikkhu Sanghasena, along with staff members of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Center (MIMC), warmly felicitated Dr. Padma Gurmet, Director of the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh, during a simple ceremony held at the MIMC Devachan Campus. The occasion was marked by the offering of traditional khataks and expressions of goodwill.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhikkhu Sanghasena noted that the honour conferred upon Dr. Gurmet by the Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was bestowed upon a truly deserving individual. He congratulated Dr. Padma Gurmet for his dedicated and sustained efforts in preserving the ancient Sowa-Rigpa healing tradition and in strengthening its recognition as a nationally acknowledged Amchi system of Indian medicine.

He further remarked that this achievement is a moment of immense pride for Ladakh and its people, reflecting the regionโs rich heritage of traditional knowledge and its growing contribution to the national healthcare landscape.
The ceremony concluded with collective prayers and best wishes for the continued growth and global recognition of Sowa-Rigpa and the invaluable work being carried forward by Dr. Gurmet and his team.
