Celebrating Teachers, Honouring Gratitude: Teachers' Day at Mahabodhi Attadipo School

Teachers’ Day was celebrated with warmth, gratitude and joy at Mahabodhi Attadipo Higher Secondary School, Leh, bringing together students, teachers, alumni and members of the wider Devachan family to honour the spirit of education and the dedicated service of teachers.
The celebration was marked by the warm welcome extended by the students and teachers to Guruji Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, whose presence added special significance to the occasion. Students and teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena for his constant support, guidance, encouragement and blessings.

In a particularly moving tribute, the entire Devachan family came together to offer khatags and gifts to Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena as a gesture of love, respect and gratitude for his lifelong commitment to education, compassion and community service. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of several alumni of the school, who returned to wish and honour their beloved Guruji.
Adv. Tashi Gyalson, Former Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, also participated in the celebration and paid tribute to Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena.

Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Gyalson highlighted the immense contribution of Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena to Ladakh, particularly his dedicated service towards the welfare of the poor and underprivileged. He said that Venerable Sanghasena had “transformed a desert into an oasis” through the establishment of a hospital, school, old age home and Dharma learning centre, creating spaces for community welfare, education and spiritual growth.
Describing Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena as one of the “greatest gurus of humanity,” Adv. Gyalson said that his life and work have demonstrated to the people of the region the true meaning of active compassion, kindness and selfless service.

Adv. Gyalson also extended his warm greetings to teachers across Ladakh and expressed special appreciation for the faculty members of Mahabodhi Residential School for their invaluable service and dedication. He noted that the commitment of its teachers and staff has helped establish Mahabodhi as one of the premier educational institutions in the region.
The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances presented by the students, along with a heartfelt thanksgiving ceremony dedicated to Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena and the teaching and non teaching faculties. The students also expressed their appreciation by presenting gifts to Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena and their teachers.

On the occasion, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena presented a token of appreciation to all teaching and non-teaching staff members of the school in recognition of their dedicated service. Addressing the teachers, he encouraged them to continue giving their best and to remain committed to providing students with quality, holistic education that nurtures not only academic excellence but also good character, compassion and responsible citizenship.

The day concluded with a vibrant programme prepared by the students in honour of their beloved teachers, making the Teachers’ Day celebration a memorable occasion of gratitude, respect and togetherness for the entire Mahabodhi family.
