With profound sadness, the Mahabodhi Devachan Family expresses its heartfelt condolences on the passing of our most respected and dearly beloved Shri Sonam Wangail Chotnes.
In his loving memory, the entire Devachan Family, under the guidance and blessings of our revered Guruji, Bhikkhu Sanghasena, dedicated the Sunday Puja and meditation prayers.
Shri Sonam Wangail Chotnes was a very senior and important member of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and rendered invaluable service during the early stages of the institution. He was widely regarded as one of the finest personalities of Ladakh, known for his humility, simplicity, and compassionate nature. He also served H.H the Dalai Lama with great dedication as his security officer. The Devachan Family remains deeply grateful for his lifelong service and contributions.
During the prayer gathering, Guruji Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena reflected upon his noble and meaningful life and shared with the staff, while offering prayers for the well-being, strength, and peace of all bereaved family members and relatives.
We offer our sincere prayers and invoke the blessings of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for his swift rebirth in a higher realm of existence. May he continue to progress on the path of Buddha Dhamma and ultimately attain the supreme realization of Nibbāna.
We also earnestly pray to the Triple Gem to bless the grieving family with strength, courage, and inner peace to endure this great loss and overcome this difficult time.
May the blessings of the Triple Gem always be with him.
