In line with the vision of Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena to make quality healthcare accessible to all, particularly people living in remote and underserved areas, Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital organised two consecutive medical camps in the Changthang region of Ladakh on 21 and 22 July 2026, in collaboration with Live to Love International, Leh.

The first medical camp was held at Nyoma on 21 July, followed by another at Hanley on 22 July. A team of medical specialists, including a gynaecologist, an ophthalmologist and a general surgeon, provided medical consultations and essential healthcare services to the local communities. More than 350 patients benefited from the two camps.

The camps offered a range of services, including cervical cancer screening, eye check-ups and surgical consultations, with a focus on early detection of health conditions, preventive healthcare and improving access to specialised medical services for people living in the geographically challenging region of Changthang.
Medicines, sunglasses and sanitary napkins were also distributed among the patients to support their healthcare needs and promote personal hygiene and well-being.

Bhikkhu Sanghasena has consistently emphasised that access to healthcare is a fundamental human need and that compassionate service must reach every individual, irrespective of geographical barriers or socioeconomic circumstances. Through Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital, he continues to pursue this vision of delivering accessible and compassionate healthcare to communities across Ladakh, especially those in remote and underserved areas.
Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Live to Love International, for its valuable collaboration and support in making these medical camps possible. Such partnerships play an important role in extending essential healthcare services to communities that have limited access to specialised medical facilities.

The successful conduct of the camps reaffirms the shared commitment of both organisations to promoting community health, raising awareness and ensuring that compassionate healthcare reaches those who need it most.
