Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, along with his delegation of participants of the International Tripitaka Chanting Ceremony from MIMC Ladakh, paid a courtesy visit this morning to His Holiness Sitagu Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nyanissara at his residence in Bodhgaya.

During the warm and respectful meeting, Bhikkhu Sanghasena expressed deep gratitude to H.H Sitagu Sayadaw for graciously travelling to the holy city to bless the ceremony, despite his age and demanding schedule. He acknowledged the presence and guidance of Sitagu Sayadaw as a great source of inspiration and blessing for the global Buddhist community.

H.H Sitagu Sayadaw shared his happiness that the ceremony is being hosted by India this year and conveyed his heartfelt blessings for the success of the ongoing chanting.

The occasion was further graced when Sitagu Sayadaw formally felicitated Bhikkhu Sanghasena and presented him with the Mahasaddhammajotikadhaja Title Certificate on behalf of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. This prestigious honour is conferred upon eminent senior monks in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Buddha Sasana, spiritual education, and compassionate service to humanity.

Bhikkhu Sanghasena also expressed his sincere gratitude for the continued blessings bestowed upon him and the entire Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre Devachan family. He extended an invitation to H.H Sitagu Sayadaw to visit Ladakh next year. H.H Sitagu Sayadaw shared that he had planned a visit this summer, which had to be cancelled due to the recent earthquake in Myanmar, and conveyed his intention to visit Ladakh in the coming year.

The meeting was marked by reverence, warmth, and a shared commitment to preserving and spreading the Dhamma for the benefit of all beings.
