15 Jul 2025 : A group of students from Delhi Public School recently embarked on a journey that moved far beyond textbooks and classrooms. Guided by Retired Major General Mohinder Sagoch and Principal Ms. Sonal Mediratta, the visit to the Mahabodhi International Meditation Center (MIMC) unfolded as a deeply personal encounter with humanity, mindfulness, and purpose—reflecting the school's theme of “The Year of Compassion.”

Their experience began at the Maha Karuna Old Age Home, where the students shared quiet conversations and laughter with elderly residents. This intergenerational exchange fostered an atmosphere of mutual respect and affection, grounding the young visitors in the emotional reality of aging and the strength found in companionship.

As part of the visit, the school launched a widespread food donation campaign, uniting students, families, and faculty in gathering essential provisions. These contributions were extended to both the Old Age Home and other humanitarian arms of MIMC, underscoring a collective ethos of generosity and shared responsibility.

The culmination of the visit took place at the Sambodhi Retreat Centre, where Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder of MIMC, delivered a compelling address. Known globally for his humanitarian work, Bhikkhu Sanghasena urged the students to embody compassion not as a momentary act but as a lifelong commitment. His reflections on inner peace and altruistic service left an indelible impact on the young audience.
