Medical Camps at Sankoo, Kargil and Padum, Zanskar Benefit Over 700 Patients
In line with the vision of Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena to make quality healthcare accessible to all, particularly people living in remote and underserved areas, Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital organised two consecutive medical camps in the Kargil and Zanskar regions of Ladakh on 23 and 24 September 2026, in collaboration with Live to Love International, Leh.

The first medical camp was held at Sankoo, Kargil, on 23 September, followed by another at Padum, Zanskar, on 24 September. More than 700 patients were screened during the two camps, benefiting from essential healthcare services and medical consultations.
The camps provided a range of healthcare services, including cervical cancer screening, eye check-ups and surgical consultations, with a focus on promoting preventive healthcare, facilitating early detection of health conditions and improving access to medical care for communities in these remote regions.

Medicines, sanitary napkins and sunglasses were also distributed among the beneficiaries to support their healthcare needs and promote personal hygiene and well-being.

Bhikkhu Sanghasena has consistently emphasised the importance of compassionate service and equitable access to healthcare. Through Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital, he continues to pursue his vision of extending quality medical services to people across Ladakh, particularly those living in geographically challenging areas with limited access to specialised healthcare facilities.

Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Live to Love International, Leh, for its valuable collaboration and support in making these medical camps successful. Such partnerships are instrumental in reaching underserved communities and ensuring that essential healthcare services are accessible to those who need them most.

The successful completion of the camps reaffirms the shared commitment of both organisations to community health, preventive care and the promotion of health and well-being across Ladakh.
