Bhikkhu Sanghasena Extends Birthday Greetings to His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa Rinpoche and His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche in Darjeeling
Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena today extended his heartfelt birthday greetings to His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa Rinpoche and His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche at Druk Sang Ngag Choeling Monastery in Darjeeling. He also conveyed his warm wishes and congratulations on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Druk Sang Ngag Choeling Monastery, founded by the 1st Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche.
Druk Sang Ngag Choeling Monastery is one of the most prominent monasteries of the Drukpa Order, built by the 1st Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche in 1971, and has since remained an important centre for spiritual learning, practice, and service.
During his meeting with His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa Rinpoche, Bhikkhu Sanghasena expressed his deep joy at being able to meet His Holiness after a long time and recalled the longstanding spiritual bond and shared commitment toward compassion, peace, and service to humanity. He conveyed greetings on behalf of all staff members of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh Ladakh, and offered prayers for His Holiness’s continued good health, long life, and tireless efforts in guiding people on the path of wisdom and compassion.
He also shared that the people of Ladakh deeply revere His Holiness and look forward to his visit. Bhikkhu Sanghasena prayed that His Holiness may bless the people of Ladakh with his presence during the coming summer and continue to inspire the region with his spiritual guidance.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena further met His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche and extended his warm greetings on the occasion of his auspicious birthday on behalf of the entire MIMC family, and in particular from the staff and students of Mahabodhi Residential School. He acknowledged His Eminence’s dedication to preserving the teachings of the Buddha and nurturing spiritual learning among the younger generation.
On the occasion of the golden jubilee of Druk Sang Ngag Choeling Monastery, Bhikkhu Sanghasena expressed appreciation for the monastery’s decades-long contribution to spiritual practice, education, and service to society. He noted that the monastery has remained a beacon of faith and a centre for the preservation of the Drukpa lineage, benefitting countless devotees and seekers over the past five decades.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena will continue to remain at Druk Sang Ngag Choeling Monastery tomorrow as well to participate in the celebrations marking the auspicious birthdays of His Holiness and His Eminence, along with the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the monastery. He will join the prayers and commemorative programmes being organized to mark the historic occasion and to reaffirm shared aspirations for harmony, compassion, and spiritual awakening for the benefit of all beings.
