Hon'ble Lt. Governor of UT Ladakh Visit Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre


The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Shri V. K. Saxena, paid his maiden visit to the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Devachan, today. Upon his arrival at the MIMC Sambodhi Retreat Centre, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor was warmly received by Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder of MIMC, along with officials of the Centre.

A cordial interaction followed, during which Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena briefed the Hon’ble Lt. Governor on the wide range of humanitarian, educational, and spiritual initiatives undertaken by MIMC both within the Devachan campus and beyond.He also shared details of the series of events proposed to be organized by MIMC in connection with the forthcoming exposition of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha, scheduled to take place in Ladakh in May this year.

As a mark of respect and goodwill, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena presented a sacred Buddha statue to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, invoking the blessings of the Blessed One for his successful tenure and dedicated service.

The Hon’ble Lt. Governor was subsequently taken on a guided tour of the campus, where he visited key facilities including the state-of-the-art Yoga and Meditation Hall and the Conference Hall. He later visited the MIMC Buddha Park for World Peace, where he was briefed on the vision and inspiration behind the creation of the park, also known as the “City of 1000 Buddhas.”

Expressing his deep appreciation, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor commended Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena for his extensive humanitarian work and the impactful initiatives carried out across the 250-acre campus. He lauded the Centre’s contribution to promoting peace, spirituality, and social welfare, and assured his full support and cooperation for its future endeavors.

The Hon’ble Lt. Governor was accompanied during the visit by Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS; Ms. Shashanka Ala, IAS; and Shri Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, IAS, Administrative Secretaries; Shri Romil Singh Donk, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Shri Raam R, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh; Shri Piyush Fulzele, IPS, SSP Security, UT Ladakh; and Shri Jigmet Takpa, IFS (Retd.), among other officials.
